Auntie Bee's Purse Step 2

This is step 2 for making Auntie Bee's purse. The quilted panel started as 18" x 45" or Width Of Fabric. After quilting and washing it will have shrunk a bit. The absolute minimum necessary is 16 x 40.

Cut out the pieces very carefully. There will be almost no waste so there isn't much room for error. If in doubt make a bigger panel OR make it this way and pray it's enough. If it isn't then just quilt some more!
This is my cutting chart. From L to R:
Front 11 1/2" x 9 1/2" and above that is Front Inside Pocket 11 1/2" x 6".
Back 11 1/2" x 9 1/2" and above that is Back Pocket 11 1/2" x 6".
Side/Bottom 5" x 16" times 2.
Side Pocket 5" x 5 1/2" times 2.
Flap for Pocket 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" times 2.

This is the whole panel.

This is how the pieces fit together.

This is the total waste from the 18 x WOF panel!!

I made a cardboard template for the front and back parts. This is cut 9 1/2" x 11 1/2". Then fold it in half and make a mark 1" down from the top edge and draw a gentle curve back up to the top corner and cut it out. The front and back pieces cut from the panel are 9 1/2" x 11 1/2". Then use the template to mark the curve for trimming.
The Pocket Flap template is 3 1/8" wide and 3 1/2" long with a curved bottom. The side template was 5" x 9 1/4" to begin with. Make a mark 1.25" from each top corner. The remaining space between the dots should be 2 1/2". Trim from bottom corner to dots. Then trim the side panels to match this shape by aligning the top of the template with the top of the side piece.

That's enough for step 2.
